Happy Friday everyone. I think it is pretty fair to say that it has been an emotionally charged couple of weeks for everyone, already coming off of a tough year as is. For today's Friday Night Date Night, I'm going to do a throw back to a classic teen movie. Little bit of nostalgia, little bit of humor, and for a movie with "hate" in the title - a whole lot of love and friendship. And this is still #onbrand and keeping with the movie-based-off-books theme! I'm taking some liberties here, but this movie is actually loosely based on William Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew"!
🎟🎭 Ordinarily I pair a detailed recipe to enjoy while watching the movie for an on theme night. I considered choosing a Seattle specific meal, or pulling out a recipe that Shakespeare himself might have eaten. In the end though, I decided to nod my head at one of my favorite quotes from the film - "And she'll want Raisinets".
🍿 With a multi-cultural cast and ahead of its time pricing (seriously, dinner and a movie dates cost over $100 now…) - I hope you all enjoy a walk on memory lane with this classic teen movie 🎬
